Too much wind

by Rob on Oct.21, 2009, under DIARY

Far too windy today. We even tried to find some sheltered spots in Scalloway and Lerwick, but this was a waste of time so we resorted to a raid on Tesco to buy large amounts of beer and wine. Something big is on its way.

Back to the commonest BB rarity to have never turned up in Shetland nonsense. Here are numbers 10 to 6:

10th. Great Spotted Cuckoo (43 British records)
9th. Cream-coloued Courser (44) – this is the one that virtually nobody guessed.
8th. Little Shearwater (62)
7th. Red-breasted Goose (74)
6th. Red-eyed Vireo (112)

Top 5 tomorrow, along with a discussion/naming and shaming sessionĀ on all the idiotic suggestions I have received recently.
